Secret diary of a call girl!

Haha, I no what you may be thinking and no I have not changed my Journalism degree for becoming a high end escort but I have become OBSESSED with the British tv show the Secret Diary of a Call Girl!

I recently, well 4 days ago to be exact, had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out :(, and boy is it painful. I have been recovering and this means, sleep, computer, tv, eat ice cream and sleep, oh and can't forget lots of painkillers!

I have watched pretty much every tv series under the sun and wanted something new to watch. I have previously seen the SDCG season 1,2 and 3 but did not realise a season 4 was out! And was soooo excited when I found out it was :D.

I love this show for many reasons...

1.Billie Piper! She is amazing and absolutely stunning. I love her acting and her characters, Hannah and Belle. The styling of Hannah/Belle is incredible on the show and makes me soo envious. Plus her make-up is done so perfectly and so beautifully.

Her wardrobe is my dream!

2. Her House! Belle/Hannahs house in season 4 is DIVINE! It is the epitome of me dream home.

It has given sooo many ideas for when I move out!

Without any decor (still amazing)

Lastly I love how the series delves into the world of High end escorts. The show pumps out passionate and extremely sexy moments with a lustful love triangle that keeps you guessing!

Love love love this show! It's a visual feast of expensive luxurious hotel rooms, stunning lingerie and magnificant views of london and I would recommend it to any girl who loves a show with a bit of scandal ;)

Tag: Why do you wear make-up?

Hello everyone :)
Sorry I have been MIA for wow ages. I suppose you could say this year has been one of the toughest years I have faced in my life. Many ups and many downs. I could write a 10 page blog post about it, however, life is all about moving forward and what's in the past is in the past.

So to start of a new and fresh start I thought I would do a more personal post, the why I wear make-up tag. This was inspired by my friend, Laura :), check out her blog http://beautyoclock.blogspot.com.a she is amazing!

1.When did you begin loving make-up?

My love for make-up stemmed from a young age. I grew up with two younger sisters and an extremely girly girl Mum so basically I was as girly as they came. We would play barbies (including my mum) for hours on end, designing their bedrooms, boyfriends, schools, outfits and hair. I loved anything to do with being a girl. Make-up however really came into my life at around age 9-10. I always knew mum had a draw filled with products but I was never allowed to wear them until around this age. This was when i started experimenting with lipsticks and lipglosses, mascara and foundation, not that I had a clue about any of these names. Just before I started high school I started asking my Mum if she would buy me some make-up and throughout the years my collection accumulated. Mainly crappy 2 dollar shop stuff but then covergirl as this was my mums favorite make-up line so it was then became mine also( not for long though). My true and deepest love for make-up came when I started to earn my own money when I was 13. This was when I could truely explore all the different types, textures and products that the beauty world opened up to me.

2. How do you feel without make-up?
Hmm, this is quite a personal question I believe and a question that many girls may be hesitant to answer and or face. For me I am okay without wearing make-up, depending on the circumstance. If I am at home with my family I rarely have make-up on, however if I leave the house I do like to put something on just to give myself an extra boost of confidence. If I am going out for dinner or clubbing I love to wear a full face of makeup! Its all about making yourself feel good!I remember when I first started dating my boyfriend back when I was in year 10 I absolutely hated how I looked without make-up and would hate to been seen without it on near him and always use to get told of at school as we were not allowed it. Nowadays I dont care how he or others see me and I think this comes with maturing. You gradually begin to learn that this is who you are and you begin to love whats under the 'mask' and use make-up to enhance what you already have rather than cover it up.

3. What do you like about make-up?

I love so many things about make-up. I love how it makes me feel number one which is confident and I love how make-up makes me look. I love waking up in the morning and being able to look forward to playing around with colours and looks and transforming myself into how I want to look. I love how make-up is packaged and the varieties it offers! I love the way it makes other people feel good about themselves and how it allows for expression, individuality and openess. I LOVE MAKE-UP! :)

4. Three Holy Grail items?
Wow this is tough. If I had to chose three holy grail items they would be....

1. Mascara- I have terrible short stubby eyelashes and the only product that truly makes my eyes look decent and open is mascara!

Mascaras I love-
Bourjois- Volumizer
Revlon-Custom Eyes
Too faced- Lashgasm
Max Factor- False Lash Effect

2. BB Cream- I am a BB cream freak! Meaning I am obsessed with BB creams! I don't even use foundations anymore. They make my skin soft and smooth, dont really get oily and still give me the perfect coverage.

BB Creams I love-
Lioele- Beyond the Solution
Garnier- BB cream( the one for oily skin)
Skin 79( Super BB cream)

3. Concealer- I love concealer! I love how it makes my skin even all over, gets rid of my under eye circles and redness of blemishes.

Concealers I love-
Maybelline Age Rewind
Mac Studio Finish

Hope you all enjoyed :)

Speak very soon!

Schwarzkopf Blonde Toner vs Manic Panic Virgin Snow

Hello everyone! Hope your April is going well, mine is going very fast!

Today's post is going to be a comparison video between two blonde (purple) toners.

The first toner I will speak of is one I have been using for about 3 years ( on and of as I have been red, purple and brown in those 3 years as well as blonde).

Is it the Schwarzkopf blonde toner which looks like this,

This toner is amazing to say the least! What I do is shampoo my hair with whatever shampoo is in the shower, then put quite a generous amount in my hands and lather it all up into my hair, and leave for around 2-5 minutes depending. This product saved my hair when I bleached it back to blonde (TWO TIMES IN ONE DAY!), taking out all the brassy tones and making it well decent again. It is honestly incredible and leaves your hair soft and not yellow or gold!!!
There are a few tiny down sides to this product and that is the smell which is really strange, not bad, but strange and if you leave it on for too long it will turn your roots purple. But oh well sometimes lavender hair looks cool :) It retails at $7.99 and wow you are getting far more than you pay for with this product! <3

Hair after toning with Schwarzkopf blonde toner

The next toner I want to discuss is the Manic Panic White Toner in Virgin Snow. Now I have to admit I have only used this product once and compared to the Schwarzkopf blonde toner I am not too keen on it. It looks like this:

Firstly the colours are very different. The Schwarzkopf blonde toner is a much darker purple and of a much more thick consistency. The Manic Panic is a light lavender colour and very runny, however very moisturizing, where as the Schwarzkopf blonde toner without conditioning after is quite drying and leaves the hair feeling coarse. This toner you must leave in for around 30 minutes after shampooing to see any results, well on my hair anyway, and the results were pretty average compared to that of the Schwarzkopf blonde toner. Manic Panic has a nice smell, almost no smell really. The pros of this product is its silky consistency and feeling on the hair and its smell, however, its cons are its lack of actual toning!
This retails at $22.99, quite a lot more than the Schwarzkopf blonde toner and I would most likely not purchase this again as I have found a much better cheaper alternative.

Hope this was helpful :)
Until next time,

Maddi xoxo

Welcome and April Favorites :)

Last month was for me probably the fastest of the year so far. Big changes happened to me emotionally and I went on some pretty vigorous retail therapy spouts...eaaaak, haha oh well it was very worth it as I adore many of the products I purchased.

Firstly is this Face of Australia Face Base Primer with Vitamin E and Chamomile. This retails for around $12 in Australian Priceline stores.

Firstly it is oil free which is a great bonus as down my T zone I am extremely oily. It keeps my skin matte and oil free for around 3 hours without pressed power blotting, which is incredible as I become exceedingly oily throughout the day. It works wonders with my favorite foundation of the month Revlon colour stay. All over I am really impressed with this product. It is a light formulation and feels like nothing on the skin but very refreshing at the same time. I'm not too sure if it has helped my pores, however, I do no it helps my makeup stay put!

Another favorite is my essence Fix and Matte translucent powder. I absolutely adore this stuff. I put it on right after my foundation and concealer and it sets them both beautifully. I really good and very well priced translucent powder!

Speaking of concealers another favorite of mine is a very talked about product in the blog and YouTube beauty world and that is the Maybelline Age rewind concealer. My shade is in light pale as I prefer my concealers a few shades lighter than my actual skin tone. It has been described as feeling like velvet on the skin and blends like a dream which is exactly true. It is super easy to apply and the sponge tip feels great underneath the eyes especially. As for the 'age rewind' aspect I am not too sure as being only 18 I don't have too many wrinkles. Overall, this concealer has really impressed me and I have bought a back up. It lasts for hours and has the most gorgeous satin finish to it and is very full coverage. I even prefer it to my all time favorite Mac Studio Finish in NW20!

These next two products are a major favorite and I think they are many beauty gurus all time favorites, and ofcourse they are the Naked Palettes. I purchased these of beautybay.com for around $50 each and wow what can I say, best $100 ever spent! I wont talk much about these as there are tonnes of reviews across the internet and I am sure you are tired of reading and hearing about them, but just briefly they are incredible. Smooth, buttery, shimmery (I like shimmer luckily), barely any fall out, blendable and a great range of colors. I am going to do a separate post with swatches of my favorite colours from each, and also which one I like better of the two :)

The next product I received with the Naked Palettes and that is the very famous Urban Decay Primer Potion. It really is amazing. It makes my eyeshadows stay on not crease for hours and hours.  I went to a wedding the other night and my eye make-up no joke stayed put for atleast 8 hours, and I have even fallen asleep after clubbing and woken up with my eyeshadow looking like it did right before I went out. Love love love this product. I have just purchased the elf eye primer which I have also heard is great so I may have to do a comparison post :).

My sisters before the wedding :). (Jessica, me and Abby)

This next product is my favorite mascara of all time! It is Bourjois Volumizer which is loved by many beauty gurus including one of my favorites Tanya Burr. It has two applicators, step 1 and step 2. Step 1 lengthens and provides your eyelashes with some depth, where as Step 2 gives drama and tonnes of volume. This is a clumping mascara, but the clumps look nice if that's possible and it gives girls with tiny eyelashes like myself the look of long think eyelashes. It never runs or do I never have horrible little clumps falling down under my eye. The only down side to this mascara is the price tag, $24 in Australia :|, which is a lot of money for a mascara, although it is worth it and does last a decent amount of time :)

My last favorites are two lip products that have been my holy grail over April and now May, that is my Kit Cosmetics Best in Show mini lip gloss and my Natures Ore Paw Paw lip Balm.
Firstly, Best in Show stays forever and gives the most gorgeous peachy gold sheen to my lips. It smells awesome, and I love the minty tingly effect it gives. It is the lip gloss I wear basically every day and will definitely repurchase.

The Natures Ore Paw Paw lip balm was only $4 and wow is definitely exceeds its price label. It is super moisturizer and feels like heaven on my lips. It stops and prevents all cracking of my lips and I know it will be a life saver in Winter.

Thanks for reading guys and hopefully you enjoyed :)
